Caring for the Underserved Population with Cardiovascular Disease

According to the CDC, Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States. Thus, reducing cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a major health initiative undertaken by healthcare providers in the US. Access to cardiovascular care for the uninsured and underinsured is limited. Reducing CVD in this underserved population, who in some cases present with the greatest risk factors for CVD, falls to safety net facilities. This section provides links to resources for both clinical professionals and patients in various formats such as how- to guides, case studies, publications and links. These tools are designed to help safety net providers meet the cardiovascular needs of their patients.
